![]() Thanks in advance for any feedback on this. Yes, we do use the prompt but with loads of servers using a UI is a more productive option for us. Also Cockpit seems like an interesting alternative to Webmin ( ), in regards to just manage the OS part which Plesk is less good at. So the question is really if it is possible to run install of Webmin on a Plesk server (without messing up Plesk of course). Also Webmin doesn´t mess around with config files either like Plesk does. Webmin on the other hand actually does a fairly good option at managing the server OS through UI. Plesk is fine for all hosting related tasks, but it does fail on the other side with managing the server OS itself. Yes I know this is like break the holy grail for many sysadmins which love the prompt, but we in our company actually like using the UI for managing our Linux server tasks as it is easier and faster in our opinion, so please kindly leave out the rant about "only use the prompt" talk. ![]() If someone would like to update these docs to include that, please feel free (they are a wiki and all logged in users should be able to edit them).I'm just bit curious if it is possible to install Webmin on a Plesk system for admin purposes. Note: this should also be possible from within Webmin itself, but I haven't tested that. Sed -i "s|authentic-theme|theme-stressfree|" /etc/webmin/config ![]() To test it, log out and then log back in. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Save" button (#8 in the screenshot below). Webmin, a web-based application, is used to manage Linux servers. It is easy to install and configure, and provides a powerful, intuitive interface that makes managing your server quick and easy. If you'd rather another module to be the default, select it instead. Webmin Linux is an ideal solution for those who need a comprehensive web-based administration tool for their Linux server. To make the "Dashboard" the default landing page, simply select the (top most) empty option (i.e. Directly to the right of where it says that, there is a dropdown with "Backup and Migration (TKLBAM)" currently showing (#7 in screenshot below). Usually, when you need to create a user account. That should roll down an additional "Default module for Webmin" area. However, from these notes, it should be fairly obvious on how to set any of the other modules as the default if you wish. I'll assume that many users will want to set that to the system resource "Dashboard" (see bottom screenshot above), so that's what these instructions detail. This can be easily adjusted to any of the available modules, including the "Dashboard". It comes with it’s own http server, no additional container or webserver required. After installation, we can manage our machine’s resources, the server applications running on it, set up cronjobs, just to name a few. You can log out via the small red icon below the modules in the left hand pane (see #4 in screenshot above).Ĭhange the default Authentic Theme page to DashboardĪs noted above, by default on TurnKey, Webmin will open to the TKLBAM module page (see #1 in top screenshot above). One of it's many features is the system resource "Dashboard". If you wish to change that, please see the relevant section below. If so, please see the instructions below.īy default, once you log in, it will open to the TKLBAM initialization page (see #1 in above screenshot). ![]() It does use a few more resources, so users on lower resource servers may wish to revert to the previous theme, "Stressfree". It provides a much more modern interface (based on Bootstrap) but otherwise should serve the same purpose (excuse the pun). As of v15.0 Webmin uses a new default theme called "Authentic". ![]()
